Bortier, Patience and band setting a lively Ghanaian tone for song and dance...
Today I was honoured to be invited to emcee the Wedding Reception component of the nuptials of much loved Amicus friends, Ras and Lina ( Richard and Carmelina...now with the knot formally tied as Mr and Mrs Minano)...several other Amici were among the ceremony and party as friends of Ras and Lina..Leanne Noble, Bob Ross, Skye ( Kabuki), Karyn Baldock and partner Gary Martin...Bortier on drums and Patience in the band have also performed at Amicus on earlier occasions while Ghanaian Association president, Emanuelle Ashong, has attended on various occasions... Heather Stratfold( accompanied by Stanley) who played the moving Entrance of the bride and Recessional on the cello, also performed with Aaron Lockyer and Francis Tuo at a recent Amicus event.
The wedding was one of the most joyous I have ever been to, most ably led by Pastor Michael Ntano from Sydney at PIWC, Hampstead Gardens Church of Christ, with other elders assisting.. an atmosphere of warmth, joy and love enveloped the ceremony followed by merriment, dance and song at the reception, also at the centre in the hall. ( alcohol was absent but this was no impediment to a vibrant, fun filled afternoon)
