Amicus Global

Dear Amici and Beloved Supporters,

On Wednesday, 5th March 2025, I had the honour of being invited to Government House alongside Councillor Keiran Snape, our City Patron, and Leanne Noble to represent Amicus Global at the Governor's Multicultural Awards 2024.

Amicus Global was recognised as a finalist in the Arts & Culture Award category by Her Excellency, the Honourable Frances Adamson AC. This award honours an individual, group, team or organisation making an outstanding contribution to promoting multiculturalism and intercultural understanding within the South Australian community through the arts and cultural activities.

We were incredibly proud to be acknowledged alongside so many other inspiring recipients.

"I would just like to highlight that Amicus Global being recognised as a finalist for this award is a testament to all of you, our dedicated supporters, members, and friends, who have contributed to our growth, progress, and mission over the past 12 years. A great deal happens behind the scenes at Amicus. We collaborate with cultural, arts, and government organisations, provide endorsements and references, attend and volunteer at events, and celebrate the successes of our peers. Support and fundraise for projects overseas and at home here in SA. This recognition belongs to each and every one of you who have been part of our journey."

On Saturday February 1st, 2025 Denys Dalhousie Marchand (Dennis Coleman) and Leanne Noble were honoured guests of the Vietnamese Community President, Quin Tran & Partner Johnny Truong and the Vietnamese Community in Australia - SA Chapter Inc joining in the vibrant celebrations of the 50th Vietnamese Tết Festival.

The event was a spectacular showcase of culture and tradition, attended by Premier Peter Malinauskas, Minister for Multicultural Affairs Zoe Bettison MP and many other distinguished guests from both state and local government, including several Vietnamese war veterans and currently serving military personnel.

The 50th Vietnamese Tết Festival was a wonderful celebration of heritage, unity and community spirit. It was an honour to take part in such a significant milestone alongside esteemed guests and leaders.

Thank you to the Vietnamese Community in Australia - SA Chapter Inc and to the Volunteers for their warm hospitality and for hosting such a lively and memorable event.

Last Thursday, we celebrated the Year of the Snake at The Seven Stars Hotel in the city. A huge thank you to everyone who attended, helped out on the night, and generously donated raffle prizes!

We’d also like to extend our gratitude to our guest speakers: Erfan Abidi, who became a member of the Amicus Community the year he arrived from Afghanistan, whom shared some insights about his adopted country, Australia, and Pamela Rajkowski OAM, who spoke about the upcoming "Desert Voices Talk" event, which Amicus are supporting, taking place on May 3rd in Adelaide at Goodwood.

Here are some photos from the evening!
